LPQQ Indonesia, also known as the Institute for Qiroatil Quran Development, was officially established and declared during a momentous occasion at Masjid Istiqlal on National Santri Day, October 22, 2022. Under the leadership of Ustadz Mahbub Sholeh Zarkasyi, alongside Quran education activists, esteemed figures from pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), and renowned academics, LPQQ Indonesia embarks on an inspiring journey to ignite the National Movement for Quranic Learning.

With a clear vision in mind, LPQQ Indonesia aims to provide Quranic learning access to the staggering 65% (153 million) of Muslims in Indonesia who currently lack proficiency in reading the Quran. The organization primarily focuses on empowering adolescents, adults, the elderly, as well as students with the indispensable skill of reading the Quran, recognizing it as the fundamental bedrock for understanding and practicing the teachings of Islam.

LPQQ Indonesia operates as a well-structured and independent association, operating at both national and regional levels. Its core responsibility lies in delivering Quranic education through the establishment of KBMA (Quran Reading Groups) and Rumah Qur’an (Quran Houses) across villages, urban neighborhoods, and student campuses throughout the archipelago. By spearheading these initiatives, LPQQ Indonesia strives to bridge the gap for individuals who face limited access or opportunities for Quranic learning in traditional spaces like mosques, prayer halls, Islamic educational institutions, or pesantren.

The institution strongly believes in the transformative power of a united ummah (Muslim community) and aims to foster a sense of togetherness through the National Movement for Quranic Learning. By actively participating in this movement, LPQQ Indonesia envisions a future where Quranic literacy flourishes, leading to enhanced moral conduct and a deeper understanding of religious teachings.
